I would be delighted if you would join me for an afternoon of paper sculpting!
My name is Deborah Sadler. I was born in Northern Ireland . I have a degree in art and design from the University of Ulster, Belfast. I now live in White Plains, New York with my husband and two daughters. Following a career in archives I have returned to my first love, Art! All my sculptures are made with craft paper, hot glue and a cocktail stick or two. They depict a world of whimsy – sometimes sweet, occasionally unsettling and often involving interactions with feathered or furry friends. I hope my love of the craft and my sense of humor are conveyed in every piece. While they are detailed and ‘enjoyably fiddly’ to make I can honestly say these sculptures are not incredibly precise (especially compared to paper cutting)….I think of my sculpting more as doodling in 3D. I will show you the very simple steps I take to making human figures and we can work on a picnic scene together! Please feel free to visit my website www.deborahsadler.com where you can find images and a couple of ‘virtual exhibition’ links to my work.
