Free GAP Paper Feather Workshop with Wendy Bale

GAP Workshop with Wendy Bale

27 July 2022 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm EDT

Free

As an introduction to the Guild of American Papercutters, GAP member and Paper artist Wendy Bale will teach a free Zoom workshop July 27, 7PM  9:00 P.M EDT. In this hands on class Wendy will teach how to create a cut paper feather, which is the basis of many of her extraordinary pieces. The class is open to anyone interested to learn about paper sculpting with simple materials you probably have on hand. The skill level is for beginners, but experienced papercutters are sure to learn a trick or two as well!  Drawings skills are not needed for this project, and a template with supply list and handy references will be included. Wendy will share her secrets on how to make a realistic or fanciful feather, from research, cutting, shaping and ultimately displaying your work. There is no fee for this online workshop, however pre-registation is required to be sure you get your handouts before the class.

“This is one of my most popular workshops and at the beginning of each class I teach, I always give a shout out to Guild of American Papercutters and tell the students about the Papercutters.org website. I’ve gained so much knowledge from this generous group of artists, I wanted to give something in return. It is my hope you will use this opportunity to invite your friends—of all skill levels— who might be interested in learning more about this art form and introduce them to Guild of American Papercutters.” Wendy Bale, Jamestown, New York.
