Lucy has authentic technical knowledge and skills in scissor paper-cutting specialization, and has excellent, concrete skills and the proficient ability to plans and implements courses.
Additionally, Lucy has an outgoing and engaging personality, a knack for cross cultural diplomacy and interpersonal communication skills, and capable of instructing and working with a wide range of age groups from preschool to seniors.
As an art&craft instructor. Lucy has already been instructing various innovative drawing, painting, paper-cut crafts, origami, mix collage &clay crafts to young children at different programs since 2011. Also, Lucy officially instructed Paper-cutting art courses for beginner and advanced level at many programs, such as, Benedictine University, Lifelong Learning Center, Lisle, IL in 2013 and 2014. For recent years, she has also instructed contemporary paper-cutting art & craft classes at Forest Lake College, University of Chicago Lab schools, Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, and Chicago Public Library.
In 2020, Lucy instructed Paper-cutting workshop at Heritage Museum of Asian Art. A lot of teachers, art professionals and artists have joined her workshops, and got highly recognized.
Lucy’s unique art specialty is paper-cutting art, which is practiced with hands by scissors (safe scissors for children) on a single piece of paper, which is also very appropriate to use public presentation performance showcase. People always enjoy watching this unique scissors-cutting-art movement on paper. This skill is one-of-a-kind art media.
Lucy’s vivid presentation and demonstration always greatly impresses audiences. Lucy was a featured artist for the Prairie Arts Festival Schaumburg(2013), her unique art was highly recognized by the jury art professors, and received an award. Lucy has already been invited to give live demonstrations for different institutes, such as, BP Company (January, 2012). Midwest Collage Society (2012) and Chicago Public Library (May, 2013).
Lucy has been contracted to do paper-cutting live demonstration for Art Institute of Chicago, at their huge event which will take place on Feb.8th, 2020. And some of her master art pieces were also exhibited.
Lucy’s artwork has been exhibited in local galleries, libraries and museums, as well as, outdoor juried art shows. and has received critically acclaimed reviews for her intricate style of cutting. She has creatively fused her paper cutting art with Public art, wall art, banners, pop-up greeting cards, bookmarks, 3D ornaments, book illustrations.
