Sara Rayo majored in Communications Design, minored in Art Direction and graduated from Pratt Institute in 1999. While working in New York and Miami as a Graphic Designer/Art Director, clients included L’Oreal, Liz Claiborne, Speedo, Zyscovich Architects, Chanel even window dressed for Roberto Cavalli and Christian Dior. She has had various exhibitions of her artwork in New York, Miami, Panama, Ecuador and Colombia. She also found the love of teaching and helped start up the Communications Design Department of the Universidad Javeriana Cali, was on the committee board and taught there for 10 years. After an artists residency at the School of Visual Arts, in 2012 her artwork flourished into a three-dimensional and sculptural paper setting she knew so well. She is a board member and the Art Director for her father’s museum, Museo Rayo in Colombia and has participated in benefits and auctions donating her work for charity. She was selected to be part of the She’s Mercedes campaign showcasing enterprising women worldwide, and was selected to create an interactive piece for the Adidas Originals stand at Stereopicnic. She currently resides between Cali, Miami and New York and is fully dedicated to her artwork.
