I am a Sister of the Divine Savior. After being an elementary school teacher and administrator, the Principal of Divine Savior High School, member of SDS Leadership, and at age 65, I searched for a meaningful art ministry and learned about "Scherenschnitte" in the Jan.Feb. 1994 issue of "Craft and Home"...Immediately, I took to it as I began my first papercuts -- valentines. I cut for 1 1/2 years, and realized I did not have an idea of what I had cut, or sold. So I decided to begin recording my cuttings, July, 1995. I put the designs for each "100" designs in a loose leaf folder, and today, I am working on my 20th folder #2,266! I have done papercuts designs as framed pictures of different sizes, Christmas ornaments, six-sided glass window-hangs, T shirts, greeting and Christmas cards, and a ceramic hot plate.
I continue to papercut at 92 years, and will continue to enjoy sharing in the "creative" powers of the Almighty One!
I cut daily, and during this ovid-19 pandemic, I have created a paper face mask which I have sent to GAP.
